The 2025 Carolina Skiff 162 JLS is a 16-foot center console built on a modified V hull with full fiberglass liner construction. Powered by a single Suzuki 60 hp gasoline engine, it combines shallow-water capability with a comfortable, durable design suited to bays, creeks, rivers, and open water. The composite construction uses no wood, eliminating rot concerns, and the hull features a high-density fiber core foam transom for solid structural integrity.
The boat accommodates up to four people and includes diamond-pleated upholstery throughout. The helm features stainless steel tilt steering with Teleflex cable control, binnacle shifter, and an instrumentation panel showing speed, fuel level, voltage, and RPM. The bow area holds molded storage compartments, and the cabin includes a lockable access door with grab rails for safety.
Fishing and water features are well-developed. An 18-gallon live well with friction-hinge lid, six flush-mounted rod holders, and a 3-step telescopic stern ladder support active use. Dual bilge and aerator pumps run at 500 GPH each, and a fuel-water separator maintains engine reliability. The non-skid deck and floor surface reduce slip hazards. Additional equipment includes stainless bow and stern eyes, six-inch cleats, plug-in LED navigation lights, a marine horn, a quick-disconnect windshield, and a Load Rite boat trailer.
