The Bloomfield 86 Motorsailor is an 86-foot composite catamaran powered by twin 315 hp Yammer diesel engines, capable of cruising at 13 knots and reaching 18.25 knots at full speed. The hull construction combines Airex foam, E-glass, Kevlar, and carbon fiber with vinyl ester resin for strength and durability. The boat features a draft of approximately 5 feet with carbon fiber rudder posts and full-feathering, adjustable-pitch propellers. Kevlar beaching pads are integrated into the hulls.
The layout includes six cabins and eight heads throughout the yacht, with forward crew quarters nearly complete. Twin hull sterns incorporate large storage garages. The expansive deck design provides substantial entertaining and lounging space, including areas for both aft deck showers and a contemplated bar or lounge area. A radar arch supports potential awning installation over the upper aft deck.
Mechanical systems include a 1,800 GPD watermaker, dual heat and cooling via both water chiller and conventional heat pump systems, and installed instrumentation. The interior remains substantially unfinished, allowing customization of layout and design aesthetic. The builder specifies metallic two-stage PPG paint in dark grey around windows, bronze hulls, and light gold champagne topsides with clear coat as the planned color scheme.
