The Bloomfield 86 Motorsailor is an 86-foot composite catamaran built on an Airex foam core with E-glass, Kevlar, and carbon fiber construction. Twin Yanmar diesel engines producing 630 total horsepower drive the yacht to a maximum speed of 18.25 knots, with a cruising speed of 13.03 knots. The design includes a draft of approximately 5 feet with carbon fiber rudder posts and full-feathering, adjustable-pitch propellers.
The layout accommodates six cabins and eight heads, with dedicated crew quarters forward. The catamaran's 42-foot beam provides exceptional deck space and interior volume, with two large garage spaces built into the hull sterns. The aft deck area remains unfinished, offering flexibility for customization—whether as a shower and bathroom, bar, or lounging area according to the owner's preference. A watermaker capable of producing 1,800 gallons per day is installed.
Climate control is provided through both water chiller and conventional heat pump systems. The structural design incorporates Kevlar beaching pads integrated into the hulls. The build is in final stages, with engines installed, forebeam fitted, a drop-down beaching ladder, and forward crew quarters substantially complete. The aft deck shower and bathroom are being finished. The exterior finish will be a metallic two-stage PPG paint scheme with dark grey around windows, bronze hulls, and light gold champagne topsides with clear coat.
The interior remains largely open, allowing the new owner to direct design and layout of remaining spaces to their vision and requirements.
