This 22-foot skiff-cruiser was designed by John Atkin and built by Big Pond Boat Shop in Mahone Bay using composite construction. The hull features a pronounced V-shaped deadrise forward that transitions to approximately 15% deadrise amidships and flattens at the transom—a shape that enables easy planing in smooth conditions while maintaining good manners in harbor chop. The finish is AWLGRIP with varnished mahogany brightwork.
The boat centers on a large open cockpit with the outboard motor mounted in a well, leaving ample working space. A cabin forward provides two berths and includes a marine toilet with holding tank and Y valve for pump-out. The helm and companion seats swivel, and cabin and cockpit lighting are included.
Power comes from a 40 hp Mercury EPT Fourstroke outboard paired with a 45-liter fuel tank, RACOR fuel filter, and cable controls with hydraulic steering. The instrument panel includes a tachometer, fuel gauge, depth sounder, and Ritchie compass. Navigation and safety equipment comprises LED running lights, a flare kit, anchor with rode, heaving line, fenders, and dock lines. Two deep-cycle batteries with a switch and a switch panel featuring USB ports round out the electrical setup. The boat is rated for 1 to 6 persons and meets Transport Canada compliance standards. A galvanized Easy Hauler trailer is included.
