The 2025 MJM 42 is a 46-foot fiberglass cruiser built around twin Volvo D6-DPI diesel engines rated at 440 horsepower each. The boat blends Downeast design with modern engineering, featuring a pilothouse with electrically controlled tinted sliding windows and a comprehensive electronics suite anchored by dual Garmin 16-inch GPSMAP touchscreen plotters, VHF radio with AIS, and a Garmin GMR Fantom 18x radar. Navigation aids include a Sionyx Nightwave thermal camera for low-light conditions and real-time displays via Volvo VesselView. Gyro stabilization and electro trim tabs manage the ride.
The interior centers on a C-shaped lounge to port and galley to starboard, both finished with synthetic teak flooring. An enclosed head with separate shower, solid surface countertop, vanity, and storage is complemented by a 24-inch LED Smart TV in the bow suite and air conditioning with reverse cycle heat throughout. The aft cockpit includes a C50 cover and C51 shade system, with a 120V electric grill mounted on the serving bar. LED ambient lighting runs inside and out. A solar panel mounted atop the pilothouse supports extended cruising.
Deck options include buff or grey non-skid surfaces, and dual underwater transom lights provide additional styling. Twelve-volt fans in the master and midship cabins provide supplemental ventilation. The boat is equipped and ready for coastal cruising throughout New England.
