The 2025 Scout 281 XSS is a 28-foot composite bay boat powered by a single Mercury 400-horsepower V10 engine with 91 hours of operation. It features advanced construction and styling designed for both inshore and offshore fishing performance.
The boat is configured with exceptional fishing capability. A large casting foredeck and spacious casting rear deck provide plenty of room for anglers, supported by dual stern bait and fish boxes and ample rod storage throughout. An upper control station with full helm controls offers flexibility for different operating conditions and visibility. The boat includes a self-contained head with overboard discharge.
Electronics and navigation systems are comprehensive. Twin Garmin chartplotters—a 24-inch primary unit and a 12-inch display at the upper station—combine with a Garmin VHF radio for communication. Fishfinding equipment includes a Garmin Kraken 75-inch 36-volt lithium-ion transducer with charger and a Sionyx Night Wave camera for low-light visibility. A Livescope transducer is also installed.
Additional features include underwater lights, a Lumitec light bar, upgraded stereo with XM receiver, and an Esthec decking upgrade. The boat is finished in a custom-painted Midnight Carbon Edition.
