The 2026 Alumaweld Free Drifter 18 is a 20-foot aluminum runabout built specifically for drift-fishing techniques that demand precise boat control and immediate response. The hull features a 6-degree vee bottom paired with Path Lifting Strakes that allow the boat to plane quickly with minimal bow rise, making it capable of working shallow water. The aluminum construction uses heavy-duty .160-inch bottom and .125-inch sidewall thickness, with the forward fuel tank positioned to optimize balance—a critical element for the controlled maneuvers this boat is designed to execute.

The open layout prioritizes casting freedom and tackle storage. Wide storage trays run the length of the boat, with additional dedicated tackle boxes and a transom tray for rod storage.
