2026 Balance 482

The Balance 482 is a performance cruising catamaran built with serious offshore capability in mind. At 48 feet with a 25.92-foot beam, she features a fiberglass hull constructed using Balance's proprietary Carbon Cross structural system—E-glass laminated with carbon fiber reinforcement in all major load-bearing areas, hand-laid and vacuum-bagged for strength and durability. Twin Yanmar diesel engines deliver 90 horsepower each through saildrives with folding propellers. The rigging includes a Sparcraft aluminum mast with Harken battcar systems, Ullman sails across multiple configurations, and electric winches throughout for ease of handling.

Accommodations span three cabins with two heads, finished in American White Oak with queen-size memory foam mattresses. The saloon features solid surface counters with a convertible table and integrated climate control—a 16,000 BTU main air conditioning unit plus three 10,000 BTU cabin units. The galley includes a four-burner gas stove with oven, induction cooktop, dual refrigerator drawers, and a separate cockpit fridge. A Spectra Cape Horn watermaker produces fresh water at 54 liters per hour, and electric toilets serve both heads.

Power comes from a 400Ah 24V gel house bank with lithium upgrade capacity and a 20kW dual integral generator system. A 3000-watt Victron inverter/charger and 4x400-watt SunPower solar panels with individual MPPT regulators provide multiple charging sources. Electronics and navigation include Raymarine integration—Axiom 9 multifunction display, Quantum radar, i70s instruments, and Evolution autopilot—plus Iridium satellite phone, AIS transceiver, and full VHF capability.

This catamaran was launched recently and has never been sailed or lived aboard. She retains factory warranties and comes with comprehensive commissioning support, factory training, and documentation of her build specifications and upgrades selected during production.
