2026 Bass Cat Cougar FTD
About This Yacht
The 2026 Bass Cat Cougar FTD is a 20-foot center console bass boat built around serious tournament fishing. The hull uses fiberglass construction with vinyl ester resin on 60 percent of the outer laminate, paired with either the established Legacy Bass Cat 20 hull or the available new Hybrid 203 hull for responsive, dry-running performance. Power comes from a single gasoline engine with matched controls and a three-blade prop, supported by 52 gallons of fuel across two 26-gallon tanks. A Minn Kota Fortrex 80 45-inch trolling motor and Slidemaster jackplate round out the propulsion package.
Storage defines this design. Center compartments let you access gear without disturbing deck rods. The console accommodates larger single or dual graph plotters. Twin drop-in bait trays sit above Wave Crusher bucket seats, while dedicated storage sits beneath those seats and dual cockpit coolers. Rear deck access is straightforward, with twin doors angled toward Power Pole pump programming. Every corner has been planned for organized gear management, with two rod boxes, one organizer, and a dip net scabbard completing the fishing setup.
The boat runs two Helix 7 CHIRP GPS units, Quicksilver gauges, and an interactive digital switch panel. Livewells feature pump-in, pump-out capability with lighting. Dual 1000 GPH automatic bilges and a two-bank master power system with a cranking battery breaker ensure reliability. Tilt hydraulic steering, a high-performance six-spoke wheel, and acrylic lighted rails with billet stanchions provide control and visibility. Deck lighting is integrated with push-button operation, and an underwater wake light adds additional visibility. Seating includes a fold-down seat with Pro Pole and a butt seat, both Wave Crusher equipped with 28-ounce carpet throughout.
