The Ares 62 is a 203-foot steel sailing yacht combining traditional ketch design with contemporary technology and performance. Built new by Ares Shipyard, she features a composite carbon and GRP superstructure paired with a steel hull designed for transatlantic cruising. Powered by a single MAN diesel engine of 1,183 horsepower, she achieves a cruising speed of 5.94 knots and a maximum speed of 7.56 knots, with sails providing additional propulsion and range.
The interior accommodates ten cabins, each with its own head, reflecting a refined approach to layout and spacing. Designed by the award-winning Design Unlimited studio, the interior balances classic nautical inspiration with modern comfort through a neutral palette of walnut, antiqued brass, textured leather, and tactile woven metals. Staterooms feature soft, rounded edges and spacious en-suite bathrooms. The double U-shaped galley is finished with Miele appliances and includes substantial forward freezer storage, while the salon incorporates TV lifts for contemporary convenience.
The exterior design, by naval architect Tanju Kalaycıoğlu, draws inspiration from classic clipper ships, evident in the fully rigged bowsprit and trail board. Clean lines and a striking profile define her presence on the water. The composite superstructure is among the largest ever built for a yacht of her type, providing both structural strength and agility. Her hull form delivers smooth, stable performance across varied sea conditions.
