The Dufour 44 is a modern cruising sailboat built in fiberglass with a beam of 14.6 feet and an overall length of approximately 43 feet. Power comes from a 57-horsepower Yammer diesel engine via saildrive, with a bow thruster for maneuvering. The yacht reaches a cruising speed of 7 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots. The Ocean version features a full-batten mainsail and self-tacking jib in Dacron, supported by a rigid vang, fixed backstay, and continuous reefing system operated from the cockpit. A powered 1000-watt anchor windlass with remote control makes ground tackle handling effortless.

The interior accommodates four cabins and four heads, with the forward cabin separated by a movable bulkhead that allows conversion to a three-cabin layout if desired. A complete third head with shower serves the saloon area. The galley and dinette feature a convertible table that transforms into a bunk. An additional water tank forward increases cruising range, and four electric toilets are fitted throughout.

Navigation and control systems include dual GPS displays — a 10-inch multifunction unit and twin 12-inch Zeus 3S units mounted at the helm — plus autopilot with NAC3 control, VHF with integrated AIS transceiver, and a remote wireless controller. Deck equipment includes a port-side electric winch for the mainsail halyard, organized winches with stoppers and organizers, lazy bag and lazy jacks, and a stainless steel bow pulpit. Ground tackle consists of a 20-kilogram anchor with 30 meters of chain and 40 meters of three-strand rope, with an upgrade option for a full 50-meter chain. Deck extras include a 2000-watt inverter, battery charging inlet, external barbecue with sink, six fenders, and three mooring lines. An extra porthole serves the aft cabin, and cushioning throughout uses the classic specification.
