The Highfield Patrol 540 is an aluminum rigid inflatable boat built for demanding work and rescue operations. Its 17.72-foot hull combines an extra-deep V-shaped bottom with a single 80-horsepower Honda outboard for a rugged, fuel-efficient package capable of 30 knots. The aluminum construction offers structural advantages over traditional fiberglass: lower weight, greater rigidity, and resistance to cracking and chipping. The boat carries a rating of 12 people and features welded seams, a high-tensile chromated and powder-coated hull, and integrated transom supports for lasting durability.
The deck is self-draining with anti-slip surface, heavy-duty rubbing strake, and integrated keel guard for protection. Orange PVC tubes measure 52 centimeters in diameter. A bow cushion, integrated under-deck fuel tank of 105 liters, lifting points, and towing eyes are fitted. Flush-mount non-return valves prevent backflow.
The cockpit layout includes an SUS 700 FRP console with forward seat and storage, twin jockey FRP seats, and a three-person RST 1200 FRP rear bench with storage. An A-frame supports the structure. The Honda BF80 XRTU outboard has mechanical steering and draws from the 105-liter internal fuel tank. Electronics are not included but can be added as needed.
