The Hylas H48 is a 48-foot fiberglass sailing yacht powered by a single 75-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The design centers on a classic cutter rig with a self-tacking staysail, and all deck lines run back to the cockpit to minimize crew work on deck. The hull features a plumb bow and beam carried aft, which improves both performance and interior volume. An enclosed center cockpit has been extended to provide ample space for crew and relaxation.
The interior layout spans three cabins and two heads. The master stateroom occupies the aft section—considered the most comfortable area underway for longer passages—and includes an ensuite head that doubles as a walk-through to the navigation station and main salon. A washer-dryer space is incorporated into the master bathroom. Forward, a V-berth sits at the bow with an additional over-under crew cabin on the port side.
The main salon features raised skylights and oversized portlights that flood the space with natural light. A walk-through galley is designed for storage and ease of movement while underway. Throughout, the interior reflects Hylas's build quality and attention to detail, with abundant storage and well-appointed finishes characteristic of the brand.
