The Sparkman & Stephens Sunward 48 is a fiberglass cruising yacht built in 1989 and designed for serious offshore sailing. One of 27 examples constructed by Sunward Yacht Company and finished by Rose Yacht Interiors, this 48-footer displaces over 50,000 pounds and carries 16,500 pounds of ballast, providing substantial stability for blue-water passages. With a hull speed of 8.3 knots, the yacht is well-suited to extended voyages.
Power comes from a Yammer diesel engine rated at 115 horsepower. The fuel system includes 320 gallons stored in GRP tanks positioned low in the cabin sole to maintain proper weight distribution. Fresh water capacity is 500 gallons. The accommodation plan offers two cabins and two heads, providing comfortable space for a cruising crew.
The boat was hauled and bottom-painted with two coats of Micron CSC in April 2024.
