2026 Mitzi Skiffs 17 Tournament
About This Yacht
The Mitzi 17 Tournament is a 16.83-foot composite flats boat built around serious fishing capability. Powered by a 60-horsepower Tohatsu engine, it reaches 26 knots at top speed and cruises at 17 knots. The hull uses a modified vee design with 11-degree deadrise, delivering a dry ride with minimal slap. No wood is used in the construction, and the entire hull bottom is foam-filled for flotation.
The boat's layout prioritizes working space and fish handling. A massive front casting deck accommodates fly fishermen, while six fly rod tubes run under the gunwales for 9.5-foot rods. The center hatch serves as a release well for tournament use, and a dedicated baitwell console keeps live bait fresh. Walk-around gunwales with stainless cleats provide secure footing across the deck. Three dry storage areas offer room for gear, and the self-draining cockpit design keeps the boat dry underway.
Standard equipment includes a poling platform with aluminum frame and non-skid top, a leaning bar with rocket launchers for fly gear, and Teleflex steering. The upgrades on this model add significant comfort and control: a 60-horsepower Tohatsu outboard with MicroJacker jackplate, hydraulic steering, trim tabs, a three-piece cushion set, helm backrest, analog tach and fuel gauge, stainless rod holders on the console, and a three-spoke steering wheel. An aluminum torsion-axle trailer with aluminum wheels and radial tires is included.
