The Nautitech 48 Open is a 2026 catamaran designed by Marc Lombard with interiors by Christophe Chedal-Anglay. Winner of the European Boat of the Year 2025 in the multihull category, she combines thoughtful hydrodynamic design with genuine sailing performance. The hulls are relatively slender with a generous bridgedeck height, and all elements—sail area, displacement, and weight distribution—are calibrated for balance and seaworthiness on passage.
The boat is arranged for accessible short-handed sailing without compromise on comfort or space. Twin aft helm stations offer direct rudder feedback and genuine connection to sailing. The starboard hull houses a guest double cabin aft, with forward options including the SmartRoom concept—a flexible space that converts between workshop, laundry, or sleeping berth depending on your needs. The port hull can be configured with either two cabins or an owner's layout with extra storage, desk space, and a full-beam bathroom. The saloon and galley open directly to the exceptional aft cockpit via large sliding doors.
The 48 Open handles well short-handed, with thoughtful rig and sail management designed for efficiency. Access to the boom and main is straightforward from the roof, and the rig layout suits furling headsails and a Code 0 arrangement. She is powered by twin 100 hp Volvo diesel engines and built in fiberglass. The design accommodates extended cruising or Mediterranean use, with popular options including water-makers, generators, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, folding propellers, and various deck finishes and rigging upgrades.
