The Nimbus Commuter 11 is a 40-foot fiberglass cruiser built for long-distance travel with twin 600-horsepower Mercury diesel engines delivering a cruising speed of 34.76 knots. The design balances the shelter of a closed cabin with the openness of a day cruiser, allowing the boat to adapt between protected year-round cruising and open-air activities.
The heart of the boat is a spacious, naturally lit salon with flexible seating arrangements. The two sofas fold and move to different positions via simple handles, while the table raises, lowers, rotates, and folds to accommodate various configurations—forward-facing seating for nine passengers, dinette dining, or a U-shaped social layout. Stowage compartments are positioned throughout the cabin for easy access. The helm seats two in the Nimbus tradition and includes substantial storage. The driver can stand or sit while operating the boat, and the dashboard accommodates two 12-inch plotters. Optional upgrades include professional suspension seats and joystick steering.
Large side doors, a transom door, and fully opening roof hatches flood the cabin with natural light and air, creating an open feel despite the cabin enclosure. The high ceiling height reinforces this sense of space. The boat accommodates up to nine people and is designed to maintain comfort and protection regardless of weather conditions during extended voyages.
