The Ocean Yachts 52 is a 52-foot sportfish yacht with a fiberglass hull and five diesel engines. It merges the open-water capability of a center console with the weather protection of an enclosed design, creating a dual-purpose boat that performs equally well as a fishing platform or cruising yacht. The defining feature is the air-conditioned upper salon with full glass enclosure around the helm and passenger seating, allowing comfortable operation and entertaining in any weather. The hull incorporates the patented Stepped "V" Ventilated Tunnel technology, which uses an air cushion beneath part of the running surface to improve speed and fuel efficiency while preserving stability and control.
The main deck maximizes outdoor living space with a large open cockpit, expansive sunpad, and forward seating area. The cockpit galley includes a refrigerator, freezer, grill, sink, and ice maker, while a diesel generator enables self-sufficiency for extended stays. The upper salon contains a substantial seating area with table that converts to a queen bed, fitted with switchable electronic glass for privacy. A navigator station across from the helm provides a third Garmin display for radar, FLIR monitoring, and waypoint entry independent of the captain's station.
Below deck, a lower cabin is accessible from the upper salon without venturing outside. It features convertible sleeping arrangements—either a king or two single beds—along with a full restroom with shower and a partial galley equipped with microwave, coffee bar, and refrigerator. The boat is constructed using foam-filled methods with three-piece assembly rather than two-piece, creating superior toe-kick space and weight distribution. High gunwales, wide passageways, and a single-level deck from bow to stern facilitate safe movement throughout. The design incorporates multiple redundant systems and was engineered so the captain maintains clear sightlines over the bow regardless of sunpad occupancy.
