The Oldport 26 is a fiberglass explorer yacht derived from classic Downeast Maine lobster boat design. Built to USCG specifications with a Certificate of Inspection, it combines traditional proportions—graceful sheer, flared bow, and wide beam—with practical layout for passenger work. The hull features V-sections forward transitioning to a flat run aft with soft chines and a small keel, delivering stable handling and minimal wake.
The open cockpit dominates the layout, with continuous seating around the perimeter and high coamings for security. A short, high foredeck includes storage beneath, while an amidships engine box with stowage occupies the after section. The port-side steering console is offset by a starboard fuel tank to balance weight. The boat measures 25 feet 10 inches overall with a 9-foot 2-inch beam, 3-foot draft, and 5,000-pound dry displacement.
Power comes from a single four-cylinder Yanmar 4JH diesel engine rated at 80 horsepower. Loaded with 18 passengers, the boat achieves approximately 12 knots; unloaded, roughly 16 knots. Maneuverability remains strong across the speed range, with steering that stays flat and positive even during hard turns at full throttle.
Standard equipment includes stainless boarding and handrails, non-skid decks, heavy-duty hardware, and a full set of fenders rigged on the port side. Hand-laminated throughout to USCG standards, each boat receives its Certificate of Inspection.
