The Ranger RT178C is a compact aluminum runabout built for serious fishing. At just over 17 feet, it combines manageable size with thoughtful design that prioritizes both catch and comfort. A single 75 hp Mercury Marine engine powers the boat, offering accessible performance for shallow-water navigation and typical day-trip fishing scenarios.

The layout centers on fishing functionality. The bow seats three across, with an 8-foot, 6-inch rod locker mounted overhead—wide enough to prevent tangled lines. An in-deck tackle storage box sits forward, paired with a divided, aerated livewell positioned underfoot.
