The Ranger RT188 is an 18-foot aluminum runabout built as a dedicated fishing platform. Its all-welded hull is filled with flotation foam throughout, providing structural strength while dampening vibrations and engine noise. The foam also helps insulate the hull from wave shock. The boat's design prioritizes a wide, stable deck from bow to stern, with an unusually spacious front platform that provides comfortable room for anglers without the constraint of a cramped bow.
The layout reflects practical fishing needs. A recessed trolling motor foot pedal keeps the deck uncluttered, and the center of the boat houses an 8-foot, 6-inch rod and tackle locker flanked by two large storage compartments. The console is a custom fiberglass unit that accommodates electronics up to 12 inches and features precision steering and rocker switches for electronics control. A large, aerated and divided livewell rounds out the core functionality.
Power comes from a single Mercury Marine 115-horsepower gasoline engine. The boat rides on a custom-matched Ranger Trail trailer, making transport and storage straightforward. Optional Ranger Cup Equipped packages are available and add a pair of 9-inch fishfinders and an upgraded trolling motor to further enhance capability on the water.
