The Scout 188 Sportfish is an 18-foot center console built on Scout's Air Assist Hull design, which enables early planing and enhanced stability while reducing the horsepower needed for strong performance. Powered by a single Yamaha 115 hp gasoline engine, the boat features a fiberglass hull and measures 7.5 feet across the beam. The design incorporates multiple features typically found on larger sportfish models, combining capable fishing functionality with modern amenities.
Seating and storage are thoughtfully integrated throughout. The helm features a console lounge seat with a large storage box and fish box beneath it, while the boat accommodates six passengers total. Rod storage is abundant, with four flush-mounted holders at the stern, storage for four rods under the gunwale, and three additional rod storage positions on the console side. A port aft aerated live well supports live bait management.
Equipment options include Bay Star hydraulic steering, a reversible pilot seat with underseat cooler, Dometic trim tabs with LED indicator, dual battery select switches, troll motor plug, starboard side swim platform, port swim ladder and grab rail, six pull-up cleats, and six cup holders. A bimini top and custom welded magic tilt trailer are available as additional options.
