The 2026 Zodiac Open 5.5 is a 17-foot 9-inch rigid inflatable built on a fiberglass deep V-hull with neoprene or PVC tubes. It accommodates up to 12 people and is powered by a single outboard engine rated to 130 HP. The boat holds 26.5 gallons of fuel and weighs 1,290 pounds.

The Open 5.5 is designed for varied daytime activities, from fishing to watersports. The layout features a spacious bow with cushion and rail, an aft swimming platform with boarding ladder, and a three-seat modular bench configuration aft with backrest support. Storage is substantial: a dedicated ski and wakeboard locker, an under-bench 54-liter cooler, two storage compartments with 12V and USB charging, bolster-integrated storage, and lockable mooring storage provide ample space for gear.

Standard equipment includes hydraulic steering, a GRP bow roller with tilting sheave, navigation lights, and a wrapping windshield. The boat is outfitted with a T-top, bow bitt and aft cleats for securing lines, towing rings, bailers, a manual pump, bilge pump, battery switch, and a repair kit.
