The Arkhaus Villa 50 is a 51-foot solar-electric catamaran redesigned by Pininfarina and built by Lyman Morse. This fiberglass hull combines clean architectural lines with yacht-grade construction standards. The boat extends to 30 feet beam when its lateral terraces deploy, creating a stable, wide platform suited to stationary waterfront living or coastal cruising. Over 2,000 square feet of total usable area spans a lower interior deck, rooftop entertainment space, and extensive outdoor decks.
The catamaran offers flexible recreational layouts: a studio loft configuration, a one-cabin one-head arrangement with open salon and galley, or a two-cabin two-head residential setup. All versions emphasize natural light, panoramic glazing, and continuous indoor-outdoor flow. Materials and finishes are curated under Pininfarina's direction, giving the interior the refined quality of a contemporary waterfront residence rather than a traditional yacht.
Power comes from a solar-electric system built around a 12kW bifacial solar array and approximately 126kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Two 50kW electric thrusters deliver a cruising speed of 6 knots and a maximum speed of 8 knots. The boat integrates shore power and generator backup. A signature hydraulic elevation system lifts the entire hull out of the water, providing exceptional stability and reducing long-term maintenance exposure. Once elevated, the boat sits as solid as a fixed residence.
