The C-Cat 65 is a 69-foot composite catamaran built by C-Catamarans, powered by twin diesel engines. The design draws on over fifty years of Comar Yachts' boatbuilding heritage and represents extensive collaboration between naval architects Enrico Contreas and Marco Amadio's studio, with structural engineering by Naval Design. The project consumed more than 4,500 hours of design work and 40,000 hours of skilled craftsmanship.
The hull and structure employ advanced composite construction: hulls are carbon-glass composite, with a double-cut Corecell sandwich core infused through vacuum infusion with epoxy resin. Carbon fiber is used strategically in the full deck, daggerboards, crossbeam, bowsprit, bulkheads, and pre-preg mast to reduce weight aloft, lower center of gravity, and enhance torsional rigidity. Every bulkhead, longitudinal beam, and structural element is bonded and tabbed; the interior furniture also contributes to overall stiffness.
The layout positions the owner's suite aft, providing a spacious and secure environment for extended passages. The reverse rake carbon coachroof features inverted windows styled after working vessels like ocean-going tugs and explorers, delivering improved visibility and reduced solar glare. All interior spaces are custom designed rather than furnished from stock, with attention to detail from the builder's master carpenters and cabinetmakers.
The yacht's design prioritizes responsive handling and performance. The lightweight, rigid platform translates wind shifts into smooth acceleration with sharp control, while carbon daggerboards deliver upwind capability previously uncommon in cruising catamarans of this class.
