The Mako Shark is an 86-foot explorer yacht built by Tufan and Brothers to designs by Rıza Tansu. Her steel hull and aluminium superstructure support a full-displacement form defined by angular, military-inspired lines that project both purpose and visual authority. Two Cummins X15 diesel engines deliver 630 horsepower each, giving her a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots. The yacht is engineered for transoceanic range, with a fuel capacity of 22,500 litres supporting a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 9 knots or 4,500 nautical miles at 8 knots.
The interior balances refined comfort with expedition capability. Accommodations include space for 10 guests and 4 to 5 crew, with expansive living areas and meticulously finished furnishings throughout. Climate control is provided by twin 72,000 BTU air conditioning units with multiple fan coils, while Humphree zero-speed stabilising fins and rockwool insulation manage motion and comfort in varied sea conditions. Fresh water storage totals 2,500 litres, supported by an onboard watermaker.
Systems throughout reflect expedition-ready redundancy and sophistication. Power comes from dual 28 kilowatt Kohler generators and a 66 kilowatt lithium-ion battery system with multiple Mastervolt chargers. Navigation suite includes a Simrad Halo 3 radar, dual Simrad displays, autopilot, GPS, AIS, and weather integration. Safety equipment comprises an FM200 fire suppression system in the engine room, automatic sprinklers throughout, dual life rafts, and a 400-litre-per-minute bilge pump. The galley features full Siemens appliances; entertainment includes Samsung televisions and Yamaha audio systems.
