The 2027 Grady-White 281 Coastal Explorer is a 28-foot center console bay boat built on a hand-laid SeaV² fiberglass hull with a composite stringer system and water-impervious transom. Powered by twin Yamaha engines totaling 1,200 horsepower, the boat combines open-water capability with fishing-focused design. The self-bailing cockpit features stainless steel hardware throughout, hydraulic trim tabs with auto retract, and dual 2,600 GPH bilge pumps for safety.

The boat's layout centers on serious fishing functionality. Anglers have access to two insulated fish boxes—70 quarts each—forward, an 38-gallon livewell with full column distribution, and an 18-gallon auxiliary livewell. The Elite Lean Bar rigging station includes a freshwater shower, cutting board, bait locker, and pressurized washdown with raw water. Rod storage spans eight holders amidships and four aft, with an additional four holders on the T-top. The forward console houses a 296-quart cooler with removable divider, and stainless steel drink holders are positioned throughout the cockpit.

The helm integrates Helm Master EX digital electric steering and a flush-mount electronics area. Forward seating in the console offers a molded lounge with cushion and backrest, while the aft cockpit features a walk-through bench seat with swing-open backrests. The fiberglass T-top with aluminum frame carries LED spreader lights, four rod holders, and tri-colored recessed lights. Storage includes anchor lockers, lockable drawers, under-seat boxes, and tackle tray compartments. A lockable head below the forward console includes a marine toilet with macerator and 7.5-gallon holding tank.

Standard equipment includes an anchor windlass with remote switches, dual batteries with charger, engine flush systems, and an integrated stereo with waterproof touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity. Dual battery banks, LED lighting, and a sport deck with electromechanical folding platform and boarding ladder complete the package.
