The McConaghy Panther56 is a 56-foot catamaran built around full-electric propulsion and lightweight construction. At 26.8 feet of beam, it combines modern racing catamaran design with cruising comfort. The hull features striking black topsides with silver sheer lines, while the carbon fiber longeron and absence of a cross beam keep weight to a minimum. This design philosophy drives the entire boat—a full carbon mast and boom with lazy jacks, self-tacking headsail with line drive, and easy-to-operate daggerboards all support single-handed or short-handed operation.

Power comes from a 48-volt electric system with 62 kWh of battery capacity. At 7.5 knots, the propulsion draws only 16.11 kilowatts. A 5 kW Quattro inverter charger handles high-load systems including winches, windlass, water maker, and the galley's three-burner induction hob and convection microwave. The boat carries 117 square meters of solar panels, conservatively rated for 14 kilowatts output on a good day. With regeneration at cruise speed and solar input included, range extends well beyond 1,800 nautical miles. A Yamaha 7.5e electric outboard powers the included McConaghy RIB tender.

The deck layout prioritizes efficiency: a single power winch sits forward of the mast under deck, with two aft winches for sail handling and a traveler line driver. The navigation suite comprises a Raymarine B&G package with two 12-inch touchscreen displays. Steering uses a lightweight chain and rope system with chain-driven autopilot for precise handling.

Interior spaces feature ultra-modern design with satin black finishes, carbon highlights, grey soles, and soft lighting under lightweight floating furniture. Every cabin has overhead hatches and portlights. The saloon opens via sliding door and sliding window aft, with two forward-opening hatches and side ports creating a bright, airy cabin. The large aft cockpit sheltered by cabin overhang offers comfortable lounge seating to port and a dining area to starboard. A plush foredeck with EVA finishes and sundeck cushions serves as an additional social space. Standard outlets throughout include 110/230V and USB-C charging ports.
