The Nordic Tug 44 is a 44-foot fiberglass trawler built for comfortable cruising and long-range capability. Powered by a single 510-horsepower Volvo diesel engine, the boat is controlled from an enclosed pilothouse fitted with an ultra-leather helm chair, electronic single-lever throttle and shift, a Volvo 7-inch color monitor, and a panoramic windshield with heated defrost and variable-speed wipers. A bow thruster with joystick control aids maneuvering.
The interior layout centers on two cabins and two heads. The master stateroom features a centerline queen berth with inboard storage, cedar-lined hanging lockers, an innerspring pillow-top mattress, and a private head with electric fresh-water toilet, shower, and LED lighting. The guest cabin has a double berth and upper bunk with foam mattresses, also with cedar-lined lockers and access to the second head. The salon includes a Sapele entertainment center with 32-inch flat-screen TV and Fusion stereo, L-shaped settee that converts to a berth, and a navigation station with hydraulic-assist extending Sapele table.
The boat carries 600 gallons of fuel across two tanks, an 11-gallon electric and engine heat hot water system, and an on-demand 24-volt fresh-water pump. An 80-amp Mastervolt battery charger and 9-kilowatt Northern Lights generator supply 24-volt and 110/240-volt power. The hydraulic steering system includes a 220-pound thrust bow thruster. Safety equipment comprises a Firebox fire suppression system, high-bilge water alarm, and dual electric horns. Interior finishes include Amtico flooring, Sapele cabinetry and trim, full-extension ball-bearing drawer tracks, and throughout copper wiring to marine standards.
