The Selene 54 Classic Explorer is a 54-foot fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising and comfortable living aboard. Powered by a single 425 hp John Deere diesel engine, it cruises at 12 knots and combines the seakeeping and range expected of an explorer yacht with the livability of a full-featured home. The design has proven itself since 2002, earning a reputation as the most popular model in the Selene lineup.
The interior is organized across eight distinct living areas. Three staterooms provide sleeping quarters, with two featuring ensuite heads; a third full head serves additional guests. The galley integrates directly with the main salon, creating an open living space that functions well for both daily cruising and extended stays. Above deck, a spacious flybridge offers outdoor entertaining and commanding sightlines for navigation.
Handling and safety priorities are evident throughout. Full walk-around side decks and a Portuguese bridge allow secure movement on deck. Two steering stations—one enclosed and one on the flybridge—give flexibility for different conditions and crew preferences. A bow thruster and optional stern thruster make docking and close-quarters maneuvering straightforward for a couple without additional crew.
