This 55-foot classic yacht was designed by John Hacker and built by Defoe Boat and Motor Works in 1926. The hull employs full displacement design with mahogany planking over oak frames, white pine tongue-and-groove foredeck with canvas, and teak-planked side and aft decks. Bright work throughout—both exterior and interior—is Honduran mahogany finished in varnish. Two Cummins diesel engines produce 240 horsepower, delivering a cruising speed of 10 knots and maximum speed of 13 knots.
The yacht accommodates three cabins and two heads. Interior joinery is Honduran mahogany. The boat has undergone two major refits, including repowering with the current Cummins engines. Systems are operational and the bilge remains dry.
The hull construction reflects the efficient speed boat designs characteristic of early Hacker-Craft yachts. Documentation with the U.S. Coast Guard dates to the original owner, with continuous ownership records maintained throughout its history.
