1927 Schock Staysail Schooner

This 1927 Schock staysail schooner was designed by Edson B. Schock and built by the Dittmar Yard in Costa Mesa during the peak era of American schooner construction. She measures 42 feet on the waterline with an 11-foot beam and was recently restored and repainted throughout, with attention paid to maintaining her original design character.

The hull is built of Douglas fir over oak with bronze fastenings, topped with teak decks. She carries a full complement of sails including recent Pineapple canvas. The yacht is powered by a single 55-horsepower Isuzu diesel auxiliary engine with approximately 400 hours of operation. She features wheel steering and is equipped with modern electronics alongside vintage hardware that befits her era.

Below deck, the schooner offers two cabins and one head. Her substantial wooden construction and classic schooner design make her well-suited for extended cruising. The combination of traditional build quality and functional auxiliary power creates a capable vessel in the blue-water cruising tradition.
