This 47-foot motor yacht was built in 1930 by American Car & Foundry, the Wilmington, Delaware shipyard that produced a limited number of private yachts alongside minesweepers and commercial vessels. The yacht's solidly constructed mahogany hull has been reinforced with C-Flex, creating a fiberglass bottom that protects against wooden hull deterioration. Powered by a single Ford Lehman diesel engine of 120 horsepower, she cruises at 8 knots with a maximum speed of 10 knots.
The cabin layout includes two cabins and two heads, arranged for comfortable accommodation. Her beam of 11 feet 8 inches provides a stable platform, and the design reflects the craftsmanship of an era when yachts of this quality were accessible only to the extremely wealthy.
The current owner has undertaken extensive rebuilding and maintenance work. The yacht has been a regular presence on the classic boat show circuit throughout the Southern States, earning numerous awards over the past three decades. She represents one of the last known remaining examples of the ACF 47-foot cruiser design still in active use.
