Flapper is a 1938 Classic 6 Metre designed by Christian Jensen and built by Soon Slip og Båt A/S in Norway. At 37 feet in length with a 6-foot beam, she represents the elegant and refined design standards of the 1930s sailing class. Her wooden hull embodies the craftsmanship of her era and continues the heritage of a one-design class now spanning over a century.
Following her construction, Flapper crossed an eventful history: she was selected as Denmark's reserve entry for the 1948 Olympic Games and spent years based in Horsens before eventually sailing to the United States. Between 2002 and the present, she underwent comprehensive restoration to full racing specification, first at yards in Maine and most recently by her current owner and German crew. This refitting included new equipment throughout and a complete wardrobe of North 3Di sails.
The boat's racing record demonstrates both her design excellence and current condition. She earned an 8th-place finish at the 2011 Europeans in Sweden, runner-up finishes at the 2013 Classic Worlds in Flensburg and the 2014 British Open Classic Championship, and 4th-place finishes at the 2016 European Championship and both the 2015 and 2017 World Championships. Most recently, she won the 2025 Corinthian World Champion Six Metres Classic title at the Seawanhaka Yacht Club, placing fourth in a competitive fleet that included top international professional sailors and Olympic champions.
Flapper comes equipped with a second mast, full North 3Di sail inventory, and a trailer. She is ready for racing and represents an active example within the Classic 6 Metre fleet.
