1947 Custom Friendship Sloop

This 32-foot Friendship Sloop was built in 1947 by Paul Luke in Boothbay, Maine, and remains a well-maintained example of the classic design. The wooden hull is supported by two Westerbeke diesel engines producing 80 horsepower combined, providing reliable auxiliary power for cruising and maneuvering.

The boat carries a full suit of sails: main, jib, staysail, and drifter. Below deck, the galley is equipped with a Chamberlin coal and wood stove alongside a propane stove for cooking in warmer weather. The accommodations reflect the practical layout typical of traditional sloops of this era.

The boat has seen regular use and has been sailed extensively in the northern Channel Islands, with the hull and systems maintained throughout her operational history.
