A 1950 Abeking & Rasmussen motorsailer built at their Bremerhaven yard, this 71-foot steel hull combines classic New England lines with the practical design of a Maine sardine carrier. Designed by the Boston firm Eldridge & McInnis, the yacht was conceived as a serious ocean cruiser with refined accommodations. The original ketch rig featured masts that could be lowered to deck level, a feature built to navigate fixed bridges across European waterways. Power comes from a single 375-horsepower John Deere diesel engine, with cruising speeds around 8 knots and a top speed of 10 knots.
Below deck, the layout provides three cabins and two heads. The galley was opened and modernized to improve flow and functionality throughout the interior. Air conditioning was installed to enable comfortable cruising in warm climates.
Between 2005 and 2019, the yacht underwent extensive restoration and refit work. The engine was replaced, a bow thruster was added, and the original hydraulic windlass received modern ground tackle controls. These upgrades maintain the vessel's ocean capability while improving maneuverability in confined waters and at dock.
