This 1951 Chris-Craft Catalina 50 is a 50-foot wooden motor yacht powered by twin Detroit diesel engines producing 280 horsepower, capable of cruising at 8.4 knots with a top speed of 11 knots. The yacht retains period Chris-Craft character while incorporating thoughtful modifications throughout.
The interior includes three cabins and two heads. The forward guest cabin features stacked bunks to starboard and a locker with sink to port. Moving aft, a galley and dinette area holds a porcelain sink with upgraded faucet, microwave, toaster oven, and integrated refrigerator concealed behind the original door. The main salon sits three steps up, appointed with seating and a television that retracts from the forward bulkhead, with port and starboard doors leading outside.
The captain's quarters has been significantly reconfigured: the original head was converted to a workshop, a midship guest stateroom was reimagined as a large head and shower compartment, and twin beds were combined into a queen berth. Original Chris-Craft cabinetry has been preserved throughout.
Exterior spaces include a large aft cockpit and upper helm area with comfortable seating. The aft deck connects to the helm and opens from the captain's stateroom. One head is currently non-operational.
