This 58-foot trawler was custom-designed by naval architect William Garden and built by Fellows & Stewart in San Pedro, California in 1952. The wooden hull features ice shielding—exterior planking that extends above and below the waterline, creating a hull roughly 6 inches thick—and incorporates hull planks that run the full 58-foot length, a construction method rarely seen today. The boat is powered by two John Deere Lugger diesel engines (174 hp each, installed in 2002) and carries 3,000 gallons of fuel, giving it a calculated range exceeding 4,700 nautical miles.
The layout includes three double private cabins forward and accommodations for nine sleeping berths. The interior combines original design with modern upgrades to engines, electrical and mechanical systems, and navigation equipment. The boat has been maintained with consistent care and shows well throughout.
