A 1961 Rhodes Swiftsure, hull number 43, designed as a centerboard auxiliary racer-cruiser and built at the renowned DeVries yard in Holland. This was the only Swiftsure model Rhodes produced in fiberglass, part of approximately 150 boats built to this design. The yacht retains its original hull form and deck layout, with Honduras mahogany interior trim and bronze deck fittings throughout.
The cabin includes two staterooms and one head. A permanent drop-leaf table and traditional interior detailing reflect the boat's classic design. Accommodations and layout remain largely unchanged from the original build.
The Westerbeke 30-horsepower diesel auxiliary was installed in 1993 and operates with very low engine hours. The varnish has been maintained over time, and a holding tank was added. The yacht has been well cared for and requires no significant work. She remains a capable sailing boat with minimal departure from her original specification.
