1964 CAL 40

The CAL 40 is a 1964 offshore racing design that helped establish the modern light displacement approach to sailing yacht design. At 40 feet with an 11-foot beam, this fiberglass hull carries a 35 hp Universal diesel engine and performs well under sail, with a cruising speed around 7 knots.

The boat has received recent updates including new B&G electronics, new Harken winches, and new Awlgrip topside paint. The sails are newer. These upgrades maintain the yacht's proven design without departing from its straightforward, efficient character as a classic offshore cruiser and racer.
