1965 Concordia 39

This 1965 Concordia 39 is one of the final yawls built by Abeking and Rasmussen in Germany, representing hull number 100 of a 103-boat production run designed by C. Raymond Hunt and Waldo Howland. The yacht measures 39 feet 10 inches overall with a 10-foot 3-inch beam, drawing 5 feet 8 inches, and displaces 11 gross tons with 7,700 pounds of iron ballast. A 25-horsepower Yanmar diesel provides auxiliary power.

Between 2019 and 2021, the boat underwent comprehensive structural and mechanical restoration at Rockport Marine. The work included scarfing and laminating 27 frame repairs in white American oak, installing new purple heart floor timbers and engine bed, refastening frames, and servicing the drive line, cutlass bearing, stern tube, shaft coupling, and propeller. The Yanmar engine was removed, serviced, and reinstalled. New brass cockpit drains and through-hulls were fitted, along with top-quality ventilated loop hoses throughout. Two new bilge pumps—an 800-gallon-per-hour daily pump and a Rule 3,700-gallon-per-hour pump—were installed with a new pump switch. Fresh batteries, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and new lifelines with two gates complete the mechanical updates.

Navigation and communication equipment includes a new Garmin 12-inch GPSMAP 8600 chartplotter with radar, Class B AIS transponder and receiver, DSC system, VHF, AIS and GPS antennas, and a new radar reflector. A mast-head wind indicator and wind instruments were installed. Structural inspections confirmed the integrity of keel bolts, planking, keel, and keelson. Major varnishing refinished the cockpit walls, coamings, cabin house, hand rails, toe rails, and hatch covers. The yacht has been stored indoors and maintained annually since the refit.
