1966 Cheoy Lee 36 Offshore Flying Buffalo

This 1966 Cheoy Lee 36 Offshore Flying Buffalo is a fiberglass sailing yacht with roots in competitive Great Lakes racing. The design originated from Maurice DeClercq's Flying Buffalo prototype, built for speed and seaworthiness. Cheoy Lee acquired the production rights and manufactured the model starting in the mid-1960s, making it one of only 60 Flying Buffalo hulls before the design transitioned to the broader Offshore 36 production line.

The yacht measures 36 feet in length with a 9.25-foot beam and accommodates three cabins and one head. It is powered by a single 28-horsepower Yammer diesel engine, capable of cruising at 6 knots. The boat carries a main sail and has been fitted with a new rig and sails. Air conditioning is available underway, with a Webasto heating system for dockside use.

Electronics have been recently updated, and the diesel engine is in clean condition. The boat reflects careful maintenance and attention throughout its systems and structure.
