The 1967 Islander 37 is a fiberglass sailing yacht that underwent complete interior and exterior restoration in 2018, including new Awlgrip paint. Originally built by Wayfarer, this 37-foot cruiser combines classic design with contemporary mechanical and electrical systems installed from 2018 onwards.
The boat runs on a Universal M4-30 diesel engine with documented service history. Electrical upgrades include new marine-grade house wiring, LED lighting throughout (interior, deck, and anchor), Blue Seas Systems AC and DC panels, 12V USB outlets, a ProNautic charge controller, and a Firefly Carbon Foam AGM house battery. Navigation equipment consists of a Garmin Echomap chartplotter with water temperature and hull speed transducers, and a Standard Horizon GX2200E VHF radio with Matrix AIS, GPS, and DSC capability, all installed in 2019.
The sailing outfit features a Quantum roller furling 130 high-cut headsail and loose-footed mainsail with two reefs on a Tides Marine track system, both from 2021. The Harken MKIV furling system was also installed in 2021. Barient 2-speed winches were rebuilt in 2020. Ground tackle includes a Fortress bow anchor with 225 feet of ½-inch nylon rode, 20 feet of ¼-inch HT chain, a Danforth stern anchor, and Forespar gear.
Accommodations include a Whirlpool AC refrigerator, Grigo 3000 alcohol stovetop, and Bradford White 6-gallon AC hot water heater, all from 2018. The head and black water holding tank were replaced that year, along with new interior and cockpit cushions. Polished brass deck hardware maintains the classic appearance. A custom storage cradle is included. Bottom paint was refreshed in 2025.
