1968 C & L Cantiere Craglietto

This 97-foot sailing ketch was designed by naval architect Alan Buchanan and built in 1968 by Italy's Cantiere Craglietto. She is constructed with a teak and oak hull and was engineered as an auxiliary ketch combining classical 1960s styling with modern cruising capability. The yacht carries twin Doosan diesel engines driving dual shafts, delivering substantial power for independent propulsion and maneuvering. A hydraulic bow thruster enables single-handed operation in confined waters.

The sailing rig features carbon fiber spars with in-mast furling controlled hydraulically by Lewmar systems, operable from either the wheelhouse or exterior helm station. A large battery bank supports silent sailing for extended periods without generator use. Additional power comes from two Kohler generators equipped with PTO drives, supplemented by a water maker and sewage treatment plant suited for extended cruising and environmental compliance worldwide.

The accommodation comprises five cabins arranged for comfortable long-range cruising. Between 2012 and 2019, the yacht underwent comprehensive refurbishment in Malta. During this work, she was stripped, partially re-planked, her beams and sole replaced with epoxy-coated laminated timbers, then refastened and sealed. This extensive restoration work supports MCA code compliance and positions the yacht for reliable performance across global waters.
