1969 Alberg 37

This 1969 Alberg 37 is a classic fiberglass cruising sailboat designed by Carl Alberg and built by Whitby Boat Works in Canada. The hull measures 37 feet in length with a 10-foot 2-inch beam, built to the high standards characteristic of the era. The boat is powered by a 2012 Beta Marine 28-horsepower diesel engine with sea water cooling, achieving a cruising speed of approximately 6.5 knots and consuming 0.75 gallons per hour. Propulsion comes through a Variprop feathering three-blade propeller on a shaft drive, with hydraulic wheel steering and emergency tiller steering available.

The accommodation plan includes two cabins. The boat carries substantial ground tackle with a 2015 Rocna 40-pound anchor, a 2008 Fortress storm anchor, and a 2015 Fortress stern anchor, all supported by a 2016 Lewmar V2 windlass. Sails include a 2016 Quantum mainsail with three reef points and loose foot, a 2014 135-percent genoa, two older jibs, and a 2016 storm sail. A 2014 Iverson dodger and 2015 Iverson bimini with full enclosure provide weather protection. Running rigging and standing rigging were replaced in 2015, with new stainless steel chainplates added in 2017.

Systems throughout reflect a comprehensive refit for extended cruising. Solar power comes from 270 watts of Kyocera panels with 2018 charge controllers and a battery bank of four 6-volt house batteries plus a 12-volt starter battery. A 2016 Yamaha 2000-watt generator and 2016 Power Bright inverter supplement the electrical system. Fresh water is produced by a Little Wonder watermaker generating six gallons per hour. Navigation and communication equipment include a 2015 Raymarine 9-inch chartplotter with integrated radar, dual VHF systems, a 2015 Iridium satellite communicator, and a 2016 AIS transceiver. Safety gear includes a 2016 ACR EPIRB, personal locator beacons, and life vests. An 8-foot 6-inch Achilles inflatable tender from 1990 is included.

The boat carries numerous cruising amenities: a 2014 Force 10 propane stove with oven, a 2015 propane grill, and a 2014 propane heater. Multiple sunshade covers, mosquito screens, and 2016 stainless steel portholes enhance comfort and ventilation. An outboard motor and comprehensive first-aid and safety stores complete the package.
