This 1971 Formosa 41 is a fiberglass sailing yacht that has undergone extensive restoration work. Beginning in 2014, the boat spent nearly two years in the yard for a comprehensive refit that touched virtually every system and structural component. The Perkins 4-108 diesel engine was rebuilt in 2015, while new wiring and plumbing were installed throughout. The deck was recaulked, both masts and the bowsprit were renewed, and the hull, cabin top, and interior received fresh paint and varnish.
Systems and equipment have been substantially upgraded and replaced. New thru-hulls, seacocks, and a propeller were fitted. Refrigeration and a Dickinson heater were installed new. Sampson posts were replaced, addressing core structural elements of the deck hardware.
At 41 feet with a 12-foot beam, the yacht provides two cabins and one head. The combination of restored original systems and new equipment additions reflects a methodical approach to bringing the boat to modern standards while preserving its character as a classic cruising sailboat.
