1971 Hatteras 43 Double Cabin

The 1971 Hatteras 43 Double Cabin is a solid fiberglass motor yacht built to handle coastal cruising with confidence. Powered by twin Detroit Diesel 8V53 engines rated at 570 horsepower, she cruises comfortably at 12 knots and reaches 15 knots at speed. The yacht's 43-foot length and 14-foot beam provide stability and a steady ride in typical coastal conditions.

The interior layout centers on a spacious salon, an aft cabin with twin berths, and two full heads with separate shower enclosures. Seven opening portlights deliver natural ventilation throughout. Teak and holly flooring runs through the cabins and heads, while the salon features custom teak joinery, fiddle maple-veneered countertops, and new wool carpeting. The galley includes an Isotherm drawer refrigerator, Bosch convection microwave, Whale electric glass cooktop, and Roman Blue granite countering. Both heads have been fully updated with porcelain toilets, polished nickel fixtures, and custom mosaic tile shower surrounds.

An extensive refit between 2017 and 2024 brought the yacht's systems thoroughly into the modern era. The hull received fiberglass repairs and new topside paint. All interior and exterior glass was replaced with laminated marine glazing, and complete replumbing and rewiring was performed throughout. A new 11 kW Onan generator, three Dometic air-conditioning units, and expanded HVAC ducting support year-round comfort. The electrical system includes a Victron LiFePO₄ house battery bank with 900 amp-hour capacity, Victron inverter and charger, and solar charging. Navigation electronics comprise a full Garmin suite—chartplotter, radar, and autopilot—plus Sea View radar and antenna tower, Icom VHF radios, and Wi-Fi antenna.

Deck spaces include a foredeck lounge area, a 36-inch PVC swim platform with boarding and swim ladders, and an aft deck fully enclosed for all-weather use. A Fortress FX-37 anchor with electric windlass, Hurley davit system for tender handling, and Fireboy fire-suppression system complete the setup. The yacht is equipped with Purasan wastewater treatment, high-water bilge alarm, and 50-amp shore power service.
