This 1972 Bertram 31 flybridge has been comprehensively rebuilt from the ground up. The boat was converted from gas to diesel power and now runs twin Volvo Penta KAMD 42 diesel engines producing 500 horsepower combined, mounted on custom beds with all new engine-related wiring and plumbing. The hull has been stripped to bare fiberglass, barrier coated, and antifouled. New cutlass bearings, PSS seals, and prop shafts have been installed throughout the propulsion system.
The structural work includes a re-cored and stiffened flybridge deck, rebuilt and reinforced engine boxes, and new custom interior composite stringers. The flybridge has been repainted, and synthetic Permateek teak covers the cabin and flybridge surfaces. The helm features a new hydraulic steering system with a tilt wheel, custom station, and a hard top with radar mast. New Lexan side windows and a custom teak swim platform are in place.
Systems throughout are new or rebuilt: complete rewire with a custom Blue Sea Systems panel offering digital monitoring and remote battery switching, a Victron Multiplus II inverter/charger with shore power, new bonding system, fresh and waste water tanks, hot water tank, electric head with galley sink and transom shower, and all new bilge pumps with float switches and high water alarm. LED lighting throughout is dimmable and color-changeable. The boat carries a full suite of new Garmin electronics including dual multifunction displays, VHF, radar, and AIS, along with Fusion audio and a night vision camera. Siren Marine remote monitoring is installed.
The boat cruises at 22 knots and reaches approximately 30 knots at maximum speed. All new canvas and covers are in place. Outrigger bases and outriggers are included but not currently installed.
