1972 Tollycraft 40 Tri-Cabin Motor Yacht

This 1972 Tollycraft 40 is a fiberglass tri-cabin cruiser built on a proven design and substantially upgraded. Twin Yanmar 6LPA-STP diesel engines producing 315 horsepower each deliver a cruising speed of 16 knots and a maximum speed exceeding 24 knots. The hull measures 40 feet in length with a 13-foot beam, providing a stable platform with wide side decks and a spacious aft deck complemented by a full flybridge.

The boat sleeps six or more across two cabins with a separate galley and two heads. The main salon features a navigation station, while the flybridge offers additional outdoor entertaining space. A bimini top enclosure and custom welded stainless railings define the exterior. The aft deck includes a powered davit system for tender launch and retrieval.

Recent major upgrades span electrical, propulsion, and accommodation systems. Twin SidePower bow and stern thrusters with joystick controls were installed in 2022, along with new dripless shaft seals and a diesel-fired hydronic heating system plumbed throughout. The electrical plant includes a house bank of three Renogy LiFePO4 lithium batteries with management system and a pair of AGM starter batteries, backed by dual Balmar alternators and a Xantrex inverter. Navigation equipment includes a Garmin GPSMAP 8610 chartplotter with a remote 24-inch flybridge display, GMR Fantom 18 dome radar, and AIS. A Simrad FU-80 autopilot with jog stick provides steering control.

The interior has received systematic attention with new VacuFlush toilets, a 50-gallon waste tank, updated flooring, new mattresses, and refreshed cabin surfaces. Recent engine service includes new injectors, valve adjustment, and replacement of cutlass bearings. New bottom paint and steering fluid were applied in 2022. Flybridge glass and carpet were replaced in 2026.
