1973 Allied Princess Ketch

This 1973 Allied Princess Ketch is a 36-foot fiberglass ketch with a solid foundation of recent cruising upgrades. The boat carries a 38 hp Yanmar diesel installed in 1990, currently estimated at around 1200 hours, and achieves a cruising speed of 6.5 knots with a maximum of 7.5 knots.

The accommodation plan includes two cabins and one head. The galley features an Origo alcohol stove and oven, along with an Engel portable refrigerator. A composting toilet replaced the original holding tank system. The main cabin has electric floor heaters for dock use, and the interior bulkheads and head have been freshly painted. Cushions in the main cabin have been recovered, and new curtains installed throughout.

A comprehensive electrical refit completed the boat's systems: rewired with a new battery switch and panel, two AGM house batteries, battery charger, and LED lighting throughout including red and white cabin lights. Two 170-watt solar panels provide auxiliary power. Navigation equipment includes a RayMarine wind, speed, and depth display, along with a RayMarine autopilot installed in 2024. The boat also carries new main and mizzen sails from Precision Sails with the main featuring three reefs, a new jib, and a Harken Ocean Furler on the jib stay.

The vessel underwent substantial rigging work in 2019 with new standing and running rigging, a manual windlass, and a new mizzen mast base. Soft deck areas were repaired, and the hull was bottom-painted in 2023. A new exhaust elbow was rebuilt in 2022, and bilge pumps were replaced in 2025. Anchoring includes Mantus and Fortress anchors with appropriate chain and rode. The stereo requires repair, though speakers remain functional.
